  1. The Central and Delhi Congress Governments have wasted Rs. 3500 crore in the name of saving Yamuna but the condition of Yamuna remains unchanged.

The nine-point action plan has been suggested in our vision document to save Yamuna, the river of Indian culture, faith and source of life.

    • Yamuna has 100sqkm of area on its either sides that can be used to channelize rain water and to serve as reservoir.

    • "Release of sufficient water from the Hathini Kund barrage" 97% of Yamuna’s fresh water is taken away at Hathini Kund Barrage; enough water should be released to maintain ecology.

    • "Implementation of the directions set up by the Supreme Court" In 1998, SC ordered to release 10 cumecs of fresh water in Yamuna; but order remains unimplemented till date

    • "Complete solution to the sewerage system of Delhi" All unauthorized and illegal colonies should be connected to the sewage system. Presently the sewage lines in Delhi are only 8000 km long which need to be increased to 18,000 km.

    • "Installing efficient treatment plants" Everyday 1270 mld of untreated sewage enters into Yamuna; we can’t clean Yamuna until we treat the sewage of city. However, only 37% of the capacity of sewage treatment plants gets utilized. we will ensure existing STPs work to their optimum capacity. The sewage treatment plants will be monitored as per the prescribed parameters and the results must be made public

    • "Ban over the dumping of garbage on Yamuna bank" and announcement of the Yamuna river bed as a fully-protected area.

    • "Public awareness campaign" for rainwater harvesting & Conservation of ground water.
